Introducing: ZapMessenger
Have you ever had a reaccuring error with MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger? Have you tried to uninstall and repair your installation, and still get the same error? Well it's probably because the uninstaller doesn't completely uninstall the files, registry, and .dll files that Messenger leaves behind. Or you could become one of many that encounter a problem in which Messenger can't be uninstalled because some .MSI files are missing (Catastrophic failure (0x8000ffff)). Jonathan Kay, Microsoft MVP and Associate Expert, has created a program that will completely uninstall MSN Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Messenger 5.x. Common Questions Will this remove any of my personal customizations – emoticons, display pictures, etc.?

uTorrent for Mac Officially Released
uTorrent for Windows saw its first public release in September 2005, and soon became the most widely used BitTorrent application. In 2006, uTorrent was acquired by BitTorrent Inc., who continued to develop the application, and promised a Mac version. The uTorrent for Mac projects started roughly two years ago. Initially it was based on libtorrent, but last year the development team decided to make the client a port of its Windows counterpart. A few months ago, an early Alpha release of the Mac version had leaked to the public, the official release, however, has some significant improvements and is much more mature. The Mac release only runs on Leopard/Intel Macs at the moment, and is still in Beta.

This update comes only 12 days after 3.2 was released, so good for Apple on keeping up even with the smaller bugs! From a quick look around the web, it looks like the probable cause is do to some incompatibility with third party software that was causing Safari to crash for many users, which should be fixed now. Symantec releases antivirus for gamers
For those who have tried Norton's security products in the past, more often than not they were described as "bloated", "slow" and there were many complaints about the pop-up notifications, although that's common amongst many anti-virus products. This time Norton would appear to have learned from mistakes of the past, by specifically targeting gamers with a "lightning fast and light as a feather" anti-virus program. Whilst the installation still requires 150MB of hard disk space (with definitions), Norton claims that it now requires less than 6MB of memory, a small amount compared to their last release.

Google Chrome to Snag Default Browser Spot from IE?
Google's vice president, Sundar Pichai, noted to The Times that after Chrome exits beta in January 2009, Google will begin an aggressive push to boost the browser's marketshare. More interestingly, he said that Google is exploring new ways to make Chrome more ubiquitous, and that they'll "probably do distribution deals" with OEMs, or original equipment manufacturers. This might mean that Internet Explorer finally has some competition out of the gate. Since IE is bundled with all copies of Windows (at least here in the States), Microsoft has cornered the market on apathetic users. IE does, technically, work, and its position as the default browser is pretty much the only reason for its success these days.

Skyfire beta updated, one step closer to the real, real web on mobiles
Skyfire pitches its like-named mobile browser beta with the tag line, "The PC web. On your phone. Real fast." Simple yet poignant. Many companies make similar claims yet fail to deliver. Apple, for example, had a long commercial run highlighting the iPhone's ability to display real web pages. That's nice and all, but try to download a file or listen to / watch some embedded media and you're reminded pretty quickly that you're not, in fact, dealing with the real web. S60's browser on the other hand, while a whole lot less visually pleasing, does take things one step further.
